Eligibility
Who can apply for Singapore PR?
ICA lists the categories of people who may apply, including spouses and unmarried children of citizens and PRs, aged parents of citizens, holders of work passes such as the Employment Pass and S Pass, students studying in Singapore, and foreign investors under the Global Investor Programme. The current list and each category's requirements are on ica.gov.sg. Source: ICA, "Becoming a Permanent Resident", checked .
How does ICA decide?
Holistically. ICA names family ties to Singaporeans, economic contributions, qualifications, age, family profile, length of residence, and the applicant's ability to contribute and integrate and commitment to sinking roots. It does not publish weightings or a scoring formula, and anyone who claims to know them is guessing.
Is there a minimum salary or minimum years in Singapore?
ICA does not publish either. It assesses each factor alongside the others.
Documents
What documents do I need?
ICA publishes a document checklist that includes personal identification, education certificates, a recent employment letter, six months of payslips and, for the self-employed, business registration and financial records, among others. Use ICA's current checklist rather than an old saved copy. Read our document guide
What if I cannot get a document?
Explain its absence in a declaration letter. Where you work with us, we draft it at no extra charge.
Do documents need to be translated?
Documents not in English must be accompanied by an accepted translation. ICA's checklist explains the requirement.
Timing
When should I apply?
When your strongest factors are in place and your evidence is current. Read: Should I apply for Singapore PR now or wait?
How long does ICA take?
ICA states that PR applications will be processed within six months when all required documents are submitted and in order. Some applications may take longer. Nothing a consultant does shortens ICA's assessment.
How long does preparation take?
Preparation time depends mainly on how quickly you can obtain the required records and resolve missing or inconsistent information.
Costs
What does ICA charge?
ICA currently charges S$100 per PR application at submission. Successful applicants pay S$20 for the Entry Permit, S$50 for a five-year Re-Entry Permit and S$50 for the Singapore Identity Card. ICA states that fees are non-refundable. Checked .
What does a consultant charge?
It varies widely. Ours are fixed and published: Lite S$197, Partnered S$497, Concierge S$1,997. See pricing.
After the decision
What if I am rejected?
You may appeal through ICA's e-Service, or apply again later. Which is better depends on what has materially changed. Read: PR rejected: appeal or reapply?
Can I see ICA's internal assessment?
ICA does not provide applicants or consultants with its internal scoring or factor weightings. Review the submitted application and any material changes before choosing an appeal or a fresh application.
Can a consultant find out why?
No. ICA has no channel for consultants and does not endorse them.
Consultants
Do I need a consultant?
Not necessarily. A straightforward profile with clean documents can be prepared well without one. A consultant earns their fee on diagnosis, timing, evidence consistency and narrative, and on families, founders and reapplications.
Is GetSGPR affiliated with ICA?
No. No consultancy is. ICA says so on its own website.
Can anyone guarantee approval?
No. ICA assesses every application on its own merits and makes the final decision.
